"Facing the issues that face our community"
There are so many people that have given up on this city, and state for that matter. They have packed
up and moved their families away. There are those that would move if they could, but can't for various
reasons, usually financial. Then, there are those of us who still have hope that change will come, but
we are hard pressed to give a good answer as to how, and if so, when will it finally come? Each year at
election time many of us cast our votes for the candidate or proposal that we "feel" has our best interest
in mind. We evaluate the candidates based on many factors like their education, past experience and
other things. Usually we elect the person with the most impressive degrees, name recognition,
experience, age, etc. But I ask you to take a moment, and look around your homes, neighborhoods and
this entire city.
Very little if any progress has been made, especially in our district (6). The people we consider the
"best" qualified so often have NOT been the best person for the job, but are too often the ones best
qualified to continue the act, standing behind a shield of so called qualifications that never amount to
anything for the people they represent. Our city and state governments are full of "qualified" clowns,
liars, cons and cheats. They don't care about you, me or anything else other than advancing their own
careers, agendas and in many cases filling their own pockets with lobbyist dollars. I am in this race
because as a citizen I am tired of the "political circus" in this state. I am tired of electing fakes into
government that say they will represent me, and my community with words like truth, loyalty, honor,
integrity, and even respect and then they don't. I am tired of these lies and I hope you are tired of them
too.
I am a real citizen, running a grassroots campaign that believes this district, and this city is ready for
change. I am just like most of you reading this message. I am one of you. And I pledge everything that
I am, to making things around here better through actually keeping my promises, and rolling up my
sleeves to get the job done. I fully understand that I may annoy some folks in Lansing by actually doing
my job, but I will always tell them that I have promises to keep, and I will keep them.
This is about you, me and this community. It is about your children, and my children. It is about
understanding that change is aided through empowering people who really care. It is NOT about
electing a popular name, or someone with a long resume, that has never amounted to anything for us in
Detroit. I humbly ask that on August 5, 2008, you will cast your votes for me, a fellow citizen that cares.
And give me this honor, and this opportunity to serve my community through this office. And I promise
to produce results that will have a positive and immediate effect on District 6, and the entire city in my
first term or I will not seek re-election. I am an ordinary citizen just like many of you, but with your
support I believe we can do extraordinary things when you make me your State Representative for
District 6. Thank you.
